No permit, and I'm assuming that it had his name on the banner somewhere.

I've left balloons hanging for South Bounders in the past and they've been there when the SoBos showed up (were there two days, one night).

AND if it had been someone who was "litter conscious" they'd have removed the wires/rope whatever as well as the flag and banner.

Probably someone whose idol is some guy named Katz.

  Unless there was a note attached or they never heard of Squeaky and that his parents would be there etc., I don't hold it against them for ripping down the signs.  

  Personally, I think it's an awesome achievement, but it's not that special to be hanging banners in the woods unattended.  Kind of like your food.
