Hey Clyde. congrats on both the upcoming grandchild and your hiking plans! I better hear from you as you hike though NY too.

The one piece of gear that I've always heard raves on but never owned is the Marmot Driclime Windshirt...

> I have decided to hike to Springer mountain. You see I have hiked from FS
42 to neels gap about ten times. I have never been to Springer Mtn. I have
decided to celebrate new years there Dec. 31, 2006. My wife said I could
start wherever I wanted so I was thinkin maybe I would start at Katahdin. I
am going to start sometime the first two weeks of July. Ya see I am going
to have me one of them there grand babies the only day any respectable
Republican would be born, The Fourth of July. Soon as I can hold her I am
leaving.
> Now my question. If you could carry any type of clothing you wanted,
no matter the cost, what would you carry. I am going to take a Feathered
Friends Hummingbird sleeping bag. A granite gear nimbus ozone backpack. I
have all my cooking stuff. I have enough titanium cooking shit to set off
half the metal detectors in the southeast. I am not looking for a wish list,
more a list of what has worked best for you and why. Remember I live in
Florida and I am a committed cold whiner.
