Passing this along:
Where are Noonan, blue phoenix, side show, tortuga, inspector gadget and his
brother?
The October hiking season has been on the wet side with lots of runnoff
everywhere especially on the trail. Crossing the Kennebec at very high water
yesterday were Whitecrow and Spoonman at 10:00am. Siince neither of these hikers
called ahead, it was just another case of divine intervention. I have heard thru
the trail grapevine that blue phoenix and side show were expected in the next
couple days?? I have also heard of impassable fords on the Piscataquis and at
Bakers Siding near Lake Moxie. This weekend will bring November weather and if
your out hiking in Maine or New Hampshire and come across a hiker headed for
Katahdin, please give a call to Rivers and Trails at 207-663-4441. Thank you,
Steve Longley
