Another option, if you can splice, is to make a short eye connector of
hydrophilic line (such as cotton) or better yet to splice a short segment (3-6
inches) of a hydrophilic line into a very short eye connector for your support
lines just above (before) where you attach the support line to the hammock.

Could not figure out how to show this with text keys on a down slope, so
assume a down slope to the right for the whole thing:

 1 2 3 4 5
  | | | | |
 V V V V V
===o&--$--o&-------
         / / /
        / / /

1 = Multiple lines of hammock
2 = Eye connector tied at the normal tie point w/ the bitter end hanging down
3 = Spliced cotton pigtail hanging down
4 = Knot in the line from the tree w/ the bitter end hanging down
5 = The line tied to tree, or whatever.

This rig creates three runoff point and allows adjustments at point # 4 w/o
messing with the line around the tree, or whatever -- and your socks ahve a
chance to dry . To use, leave the rig tied to the hammock. Tie off line
around the tree, or whatever, and then tie it to the eye in the rig, adjusting
for proper tension, height. etc.

The trick with any line is to have some thing to channel off water *before*
it gets to the hammock. Tie your dirty socks around the line a few inches
above each end.
