[at-l] "Why" and "Purpose"

That would be interesting, but I suspect a non-starter, commercially

Or maybe a big hit, if we consider AWITW.

Howz'bout a book by one who didn't try in the first place, but did a good job
of capturing the spirit of the trail and the stories of some who didn't make
it, as well as some who did -- or more important IMHO, the voice of those of
all in near-real time, w/o the rosy hue produced by success, in the case of
those who made it.

If you haven't read it, check out: _A Season on the Appalachian Trail_, By
Lynn Setzer, ISBN 0-89732-382-3.

IMHO, it is one of the best "overview of the trail" books for someone who has
little, or no, experience on the AT.

Of course, you have experience. So, that's not why I am mentioning it.
However, I would like to know your opinion of the book from the perspective of
your hike.

I think it might
be interesting to hear from a few folks
who tried and didn't make it.
