Right, but I spent months and months
immersing myself in all that literature.

They say history is told by the winners.

There are lots of books of journals by
"successful" thru hikers.  I think it might
be interesting to hear from a few folks
who tried and didn't make it.

No, it's not about victimhood or self pity.
Nobody's forced to walk end-to-end, but
we make individual choices about how
much our dreams are worth.
