So ? if you carry a cell phone in your pack and turn it on once a week, you
think it won?t matter, right? Well, if that makes you happy ? go for it.
Now, you can quibble all you want about this ? fact is, I don?t give a royal
flying hoot what you carry or not. ?Your? hike is NOT ?my? hike. And "my"
main concern is ?my? hike.

*** While giving an excellent synopsis on disconnectedness,
this opinion once again fails to relate any pre-existing Appalachian Trail
design. As usual, while offering advice posing as a Trail voice this opinion never
once associates these ideas with an existing Trail ethic and acts as if this
was strictly for hikers to decide.
If you read this opinion it conspicuously fails to discuss how
saying "go for it if you want" affects the overall Trail and its designed
purpose. Since its author is obviously reflecting the identical ideas of that
purpose, I can only assume he is doing this deliberately and needs to purposely
exclude that firm Trail-connection to make his view work.
What ever you do don't admit this was purposely designed and part
of the Trail's purpose...
