I hitch-hike to and from quite a few of my hikes. No net gain in
petrochemical use or greenhouse gas emissions, save for the small amount
extra caused by my weight in the vehicle that picks me up. Besides, I meet
lots of nice new people (and as Squeaky says, they all meet a nut).
