That simply isn't true. That deep wilds mindset is night and day
different when carrying a cell phone. The routine and sense of that routine
are two totally separate things. There is one set of behaviors with and one set
without.
But you are missing the point here. The Trail is surrounded by
nearby development and civilization. It takes a little extra to impose the
designed wilderness experience the Trail seeks. Every single one of the pro-cell
phone positions ignores this obvious reality.
It's more than obvious we are talking about a Trail majority that
doesn't really care if the Trail has a wilderness ethic...
