Years ago my wife and I took martial arts classes
together.  Never very good at it, but it was a
good workout and a challenge.

One day our taekwondo instructor started off
the class talking about a tournament that prior
weekend, where one of our classmates had
competed.

Story was, she took a good kick to the head
and got knocked out cold.  But the instructor
was so damned proud... she'd come to.. and
... finished the fight.

Now, my wife and I heard this in class, lined
up neatly in formation. She was horrified, and
soon thereafter we both quit.  Way she saw it,
the instructor was being hugely irresponsible
in encouraging the injured student to continue
the fight.  She couldn't feel safe as his student
after that.
