[at-l] hiking the a t



I'm not an ultra-lighter by any measure, however my tent & bag for down to 
freezing is 3 lb 2.1 oz.   I get all of what I consider dry gear -- e.g., 
pack, tent, bag, sleeping pad, cook kit (stove, pot, etc) for 7 lb 11.1 oz.

You might want to look into some of the information available for reducing 
your weight.

place to start, but not the definitive authority, if there is such a thing.
