That was a one off. I never wrote one before and haven't felt the
urge since. I told you I was possessed that day or something. Actually
until now that bit of doggerel was my private secret. It was hidden away in
my computer unseen by anyone but me.
Judging by the quality I would suggest that you keep a writing pad nearby
and write the lines that inspire. Sometimes poetry oozes in twilight times
such as in early morning waking up moments, or when has had an exhilarating
experience, or a time of quiet observation, or some sudden shock to the system.
Some people spend hours in agony trying to get out what is within while
others simply stop what they are doing, and let the pen do the creative discovery.
Once in an argument with a past wife I came to a blank moment and said, "I
don't know what to say." She replied, in a snippy way, "My English teacher
said that one should just begin with a declarative sentence." She was correct
and he was right and I have found that advice to be true. To get the truth
that lies within to come out it is necessary to begin by talking, & writing,
and the rest of the story is the result.
