...until my AT hike with my Venturing Crew to Grayson Highlands and Mt. Rogers.  From everything I've read and heard, its really pretty up there (thank you Chainsaw for all your info!) and if the weather's not too bad, it should be a great hike.   By bad I only mean lightning.  I *hate* hiking during lightning!!

In an interesting coincidence, the part of the AT we're hiking is a part of the AT I have maps for.  I drove to Washington DC in 1987 and took the Blue Ridge Parkway and various highways through Virginia and at some point during the trip, I decided to buy a set of AT maps and a trail guide for the area (for 12.50).  I figured I was going to hike the whole thing someday so why not?  

Does anyone have a link or journal with descriptions & pictures that I can send to the Crew?  I've found some here and there so far... and of course I have Jan's journal entries (http://www.trailjournals.com/entry.cfm?id=31615) from there.  However, she mentions a "Wise Shelter".  Where is that?  Its not on my 1987 map!  :-)
