I do think that the trail is changing, and the one thing I?m doing to fix
things is to start with myself--as we each should. Yes,
we will have a difference of opinion on many aspects of the trail. However,
I will respect the feelings of others and tolerate
those that have a difference of opinion than that of mine. I will conduct
myself, take care of the trail, and attempt to keep it
for those who are yet to come.

I think when people are talking about feelings over differences of
opinion, but not actually talking about the opinions themselves or their merit,
tolerance of them doesn't really say anything according to my understanding of
the Trail or responsibility towards it. That's a little too sparse in
substance or content to work for me, in my opinion. To me the worst sort of thing the
Trail could experience is placid peaceful members getting along who do almost
nothing towards what really counts for the Trail. This only makes an
opportunity for people to label valid Trail concerns as disruptive or intolerant...
