[at-l] Yosemite mountaineering program

Although I have vastly enjoyed the southern Appalachians for the
past few Christmas/New Years holidays, I have been yearning to
scratch a colder itch, and am aiming at the White Mountains for
this coming year end. If I had the time/money, I would surely
jump on the program below (just got the email) to get my snow
skills up to where they should be to ease my (risk) comfort
factor.
(If it's no trouble, perhaps someone might post whether there's
any info on a similar caliber AMC/IME/EMS program?)

If you are thinking about pushing your trail limits a little
further and perhaps a little higher in elevation, then you might
consider our new Mountaineering Skills Program: Taking Trail
Runners to New Heights. After completing the course, maybe join
us later in the season for future mountain climbs to some of the

highest peaks in North America and South America.

* Mountaineering Skills Program: Taking Trail Runners to New
Heights *

Whether you are looking for new off-trail explorations,
perfecting your adventure racing skills or dreaming of climbing
all the "Seven Summits," our Mountaineering Skills Program will
build your confidence and teach you the precision technical
skills and decision making you'll need to tackle your next
mountain expedition.

You'll progress quickly from basic to more advanced
mountaineering techniques for traversing, ascending, and
descending alpine rock, snow, ice fields, and boulders. You'll
also learn essential rope skills, including: traveling as a rope
team, setting anchors, and rappelling. Plus, you'll be trained
in critical life-saving techniques for team and self-rescue,
such as ice-axe self arrest as well as safe route selection and
navigation for off-trail journeying and orienteering.

After four activity-packed, hands-on days, we'll break base
camp, grab ice-axes and conduct our "final exam" expedition to
an exhilarating mountain peak. Ascending the final ridge before
the summit, with its humbling, spanning views, you'll know that
you've been fully initiated into the world of the mountaineer.

This program does not require any mountaineering experience and
is perfect for first timers; it is geared to fit individuals who
at a minimum have both trail running and some backpacking
experience. Limited to 12 participants per program.
