Greg gives a nice thumb nail description of at least two procedures for
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). All procedures tend to be very painful. I
recall tonsillectomy as a kid, and suspect this is even worse. It is
reserved for the 50% who do not respond to CPAP, or who will not use it -
such as while hiking.
Like all surgical procedures, it must be considered with a real world doc.
There are other procedures and experimental procedures, such as radio-wave
ablation of retro lingual tissue (think of a microwave to your throat).
