[at-l] embarrassing mom



Jim,

I kinda had to laugh when I read your response.  You said, "I find groups
confining. "  I had to wonder what you call the AT-L.  Isn't that a group
also?  ;-)

You also said, "I think perhaps women are socialized to be 'joiners' more so
than men, thus it is the women who are the backbone of most churches."  I
have to agree with you on this.  The majority of women do tend to be more
social than men.

It seems to me that as you and your wife enjoy being non-conformists and
that you really know your own minds and prefer a different way than most.
As you stated, in anything we do whether with or without a group, there can
be trade-offs.  We each have to look at the various aspects of any way we
choose to live and be satisfied with the decisions we make.  Now, if only we
could learn not to judge others because they think, feel, or even live a
different way.
