Thanks, Frank! I have to admire those who can think for themselves. For example, I was raised to be a racist, but when I finally GREW UP (Hint, hint) and opened my eyes...it no longer made any sense. Kind of like carrying a chip on your shoulder because of a conflict that occurred before your GRANDPARENTS were born.

Since the subject was grits, this Philadelphia born-and-raised boy has had 'em with butter and salt, milk and sugar, strawberry preserves stirred into them. They're a pretty bland medium, so you can do what you like best. (Curry, anyone?) Anyway, I hope I've made some self-proclaimed "purists" shudder.

Like with the racism, an open mind allows you to actually perceive reality...

I don't believe in the Yankee/Reb thing anymore. We were taught it at a
young age down here, but I live in an area that has grown quite homogenized.
Truthfully, the only two major differences that I see are language
usage/accent and the ability--or lack of ability---to drive in the snow.

Camo,

I really admire the way you were able to make that positive change in your
life. I never have understood prejudice, but then I was not brought up that
way. It takes guts to make changes. Now this REALLY could get me off into
a political discussion but I know that is considered "off topic" so it is
better we continue with the grits and cell phone threads.

the war)
