[at-l] Hard case for glasses

Not me.

However, I had one which I did NOT like this past summer. I think the name
was glassessafe, or something tricky, such as that.

It was a clip-on, as I was looking for something to hold my glasses (that is
plural) available on the strap to my pack. I wear trifocal at home and where
I can expect the footing to be predictable. Can't hike in them, as I need to
see my feet and the ground -- which the reading segment at the bottom of my
trifocal obliterated. I hike in Rx (mid-range) sunglasses (or without
glasses, as my vision at six to ten feet is pretty good). However, I need
reading glasses to see the map, etc. Hence, two pair at the ready.

In any case, the glassessafe looked good at the outfitters. Both, my
sunglasses and small half-moon reading glasses, fit. It was very sturdy.
Allegedly waterproof, etc.

It was only when I got in the field that I realized that the clip (which held
them to the pack strap) was designed to be removed. When the top of the case
was open, the clip could be removed -- OR if you opened the case to take out
you reading glasses it could remove itself, letting the case, other pair of
glasses, and clip fall to the ground.

If you are looking at a pair w/ clip, check how it is attached/removed.
