Bring earplugs at the start of your thru and pass them out liberally. 
That's how I got turned on to the advantages of the things in a shelter.

I slept right next to a notorious snorer at Muskrat Creek, and slept 
like a baby because I had them.

You can't help that you snore, and there's no denying that it is 
unpleasant to the recipient. Pass out earplugs the first month. 
They're virtually weightless. Plus, you'll make friends early on.
