[at-l] Perception/Quote....Still Kinda Long

I think that I need to say my last piece on this, and if I disagree with
Shelly on any of this, she probably won't get mad, because she is a
dear friend.

RnR had some real points. There have been some huge arguments here, in
whiteblaze and elsewhere about some really stupid stuff. I should know. I've
been in the middle of a lot of them. I can be a pretty lame-@ssed guy at
times, as can we all.

They do some good, they may well do some bad. We have to decide that for
ourselves. If we disagree enough, we can pay dues, work to get elected to
the board and take over from the inside. If it was changed from its original
intent, that was exactly how it was done.

Have you ever noticed how many non-profit credit-counseling services and
radio stations there are out there? Do you know how you maintain that type
of non-profit status? Money not set aside for future operating expenses or
future investments has to be paid out in salaries and *bonuses* by the end
of the fiscal year, or it counts as profit. I'm just sayin'...

I think that this is a silly argument, but that's just me. If name changes
and cell phones make people feel better, let 'em have 'em.

The problem is, who gets to decide that?

That's okay Shelly-Dear-Not-In-No-Kind-Of-Headlights. :-)
(Heckuva long trail name!)

Somewhere in this thread I screwed up and made myself look like a "good"
person. There ain't no such animal. There are a some truly evil ones, and
they exist in visible and growing numbers.

Most of us have Mr. Id over on one side saying: "mine, mine, mine. Now,
now, now. Boy I wouldn't kick HER outta bed", Mr. Ego on the other side
saying: "but what would people think?", and of course Mssr. Superego in
the middle saying: "fellas, we can work this out."

I've had some truly evil days. Ask some of the folks on whiteblaze where
I've pitched a few tantrums, or maybe a GPS newsgroup or two. I've had some
truly unselfish days where I gave away something I needed to someone else
who needed it--and didn't let them know I needed it. Most days we're ALL
somewhere in the middle.

We all have our own beliefs or lack thereof. But Jesus, Ghandi, The
Buddha, MLK and Rodney King have all basically said something like: "Can't
we all just get along?" We could, you know.
