[at-l] We Should All Be So Lucky . . .

>"...in SW Virginia the weather
is perfecto right now. ?40s-60s. ?Looks like its's that way down in Georgia
too."

As is the coast of Maine. It was cloudy, but the temperature was in the 40s as I did my daily walk through one of our Town Land Trust Preserves. It was only an hour and a couple of miles, but the rock tripe was a beautiful green from a mostly rainy week; the ferns and mosses brilliant. As I rounded the beaver bog I happened upon a cluster of partridge berries, gleaming red in the first dim view of the sun. Partridge berries are rare at this time of year as animals tend to get most of them. I shot a 24 exposure roll of slide film and hated to stop.

But the program I use to produce my MATC and AMC newsletters, 12 a year, won't work with my new computer. The program is the best newsletter program I ever have used. But it went out of circulation 12 years ago and despite promises to the contrary, won't work with Windows XP. I had to get back and meet someone who promises to tell me enough to make Pagemaker work. I'm not optimistic. But I'm committed to going to press in a week.
