[at-l] Kieth Shaw remembered

Yeah, we were lucky to spend time at Shaw's the last two summers. My own Keith story was about an unplanned extra day we spent there.

We had just started the 100, but after record rains, we were temporarily stranded by high water and we hiked off the trail to a logging road about 15 miles from Monson. Figuring I'd save some shoe leather, I tried to call Shaw's to see if I could get a shuttle back and stay there. I couldn't get through, so I called my wife and asked her to call Shaw's for me (having limited battery power on my cell phone). Well, she couldn't get through either, and figuring we needed to be "saved", she went and called the sheriff! So the sheriff and old Keith and Baltimore Jack (who was hanging out there) had a good laugh over that. But when we got out to the logging road, there was old Keith in his big Buick (complete with his oxygen bottle) at the logging road to pick us up (insisting we were at the wrong logging road).

After dinner that night when we were settling up with old Keith, he looked in his big book and said "What's this shuttle? Who gave you the shuttle?". "You did!". "I did? Well I guess I had a long day".

Here's a few pictures for memories:
