For someone who didn't attend, I wonder where you came up with the "lowly 
hikers" bit. And I have to wonder what you mean by no help requested or 
received from attendees or list members.

If you would like to make a regional RUCK, knock yourself out. I'm not 
holding my breath. I'd love for you to learn something about organizing 
these sort of affairs rather than second guessing those who do/did the work.
