[at-l] New Hydrogen Process (OT)

I certainly agree with your point about passive solar. Nuke waste storage
and disposal is expensive because of politics not engineering. As the
article points out just reprocessing the spent fuel would reduce its volume
by half and it's activity too.

--No one source of energy will ever dominate electricity
--generation again, but terrestrial solar is already
--competitive if you are more than a half mile from the grid.
--With fossil fuel prices rising, all that is really needed
--today is for governments to finally require that generators
--pay to abate the pollution they cause before solar becomes
--the most cost effective "fuel" for generating electricity.
--
--Nuclear has the same problem as fossil fuels. It's
--competitive only if the generator of the wastes doesn't have
--to pay for their disposal.
--
--Finally passive solar with wise layout of houses and windows
--could supply 40 percent of home heating energy in most new
--houses totally cost free.
