[at-l] thur hike with ipod
To OB,
I seem to remember a SORUCK where we advised a young girl on her pack
contents for a thru hike. I believe I said something along the lines of
"start with a space blanket inside of a nalgen bottle". Anything after
that is a want, not a need. NYC marathon? Awesome. I'm trying to suck it
up for a 5k...
To all,
I've been off the list awhile, are pocketmail devices still in vogue?
Everyone finds a comfort level of need vs want. I still drag along my
Brunton Sherpa & GPS,and a cel phone. I don't take my ipod, since I
don't go out there to listen to tunes, but to each his own. Once GSM cel
coverage sufficiently saturates the corridor, cel phone/pda/gps all in
one is a real possibility. Be thankful that at least an ipod requires
headphones, and doesn't ring.
Check out the link I just posted to the scott evest product. It IS a
solar powered battery recharger, although not a pack cover.
