If it's any consolation, the only time I ever heard of anyone getting busted 
for "dope" on the trail was in the Smokies and all they got was a $250 mail-in

Some states such as Maine, NY and NC has decriminalized marijauna to a 
degree.  Others draw probationary periods and a small fine.  And some of the more 
backwards states WILL give you a number.
