Phil Oren fit, was [at-l] Boots and Blisters

Actually, they don't really have a set formula, per se.

My feet were so low-volume, and the number of low-volume shoes on the
market so few, I was encouraged by the Phil Oren folks to wear thick,
beefy socks for both the extra cushioning and to take up volume in the
shoe, reducing slippage.

For a different-shaped foot, the advice would likely be different,
adjusted to fit the situation.

Nor am I saying the Phil Oren fit system is the be-all and end-all.
For example Chainsaw's orthotics maker in Virginia opened my eyes to
some other fit needs of my feet. But, that Oren booth at Trail Days
sure got MY attention in '03!
