One of the problems with a Sven, and many smaller bow saws (folding, or
otherwise) is that the stroke gets too restricted by the narrow angle of the
off end of the saw. IOW -- the further you get through the branch, as you
pull back the top of the "bow" runs into the top of the branch, lifting the
blade up in the kerf and restricting the travel of the saw. OTOH, a large bow
has the reverse problem of the big bow not fitting in the space between limbs.
I prefer a pruning saw -- something like a Fanno or (a Bahco, if you like
straight blades). Check out www.baileys-online.com or other on line woodsman

Try a Sven saw, it's a collapsable saw for backpacking. It comes in 2
lengths.
I have one I bought at an outfitter years ago.
