Reference your post, dated 9-13-04, asking whether nuts keep longer if they
are frozen. (I?m resisting the impulse to have some cheap fun here.)
Yes. If they are kept cold enough for long enough they may just keep
forever. (I don?t know how cold that would need to be.) We buy in quantity
from grower/suppliers who provide excellent quality products. We have
deduced they also must freeze theirs to provide them with a year around
supply.
When you thaw them, they will taste much better if you thaw them in the
refrigerator, or in your pack if it is cold enough.
