With all this hurricane talk, does anyone know how fast the wind has to be 
blowing to knock a hiker off their feet?

Although I've been buffeted by strong winds I've never lost my feet.  When 
hiking directly on the divide in the Scapegoat Wilderness a few of us were 
upended.  I imagine we had steady winds of 50 mph with gusts up to 75.

Did I answer my own question, or does someone know better?  : )
