Pittsburgh here -

The concensus has been that we return to Camp Thornwell for the 2005
SouthernRUCK on MLK holiday weekend (Jan 14, 15, 16 - Fri, Sat, Sun). 
SO, if there are no major objections, then the place and date is set...

AND, if there are no major objections, I will again assume the
coordinator position.  The very popular Ms Janet will probably have a
very active hand as co-coordinator...

The immediate need is for a volunteer to build and maintain a website
for the event.  You will be fed info from a number of people...

Another big need will be a kitchen coordinator.  Barb (my wife) handled
the kitchen last year (and did a splendid job), but will step aside
this year.  Raise your hand if interested...

A suggestion has been made to expand the days of the RUCK.  Since it is
a holiday weekend (I know that not all of us get this weekend as a
holiday), the opportunity exists to arrive on Friday, have the event on
Saturday AND Sunday, and disband on Monday.  Give me some feedback...

The opportunity also exists to have a pre-RUCK hike or after-RUCK hike.
 Some of us could hike to the RUCK (Bartram Trail/Foothills Trail), or
hike from the RUCK (same trails), or re-gather on the A.T. somewhere in
North Georgia and hike for a few days.  Give me some feedback...

I will be talking with Sunny (Camp Thornwell host) and Ms Janet, and we
will have more info soon.  Please post any questions, comments and
suggestions for the RUCK on the list, and copy the post to me...
