Olive and Janes have been hiking the fledgling West Coast Trail since June 8, beginning the journey at Cape Flattery on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.

They are making what is believed to be the first continuous jaunt on the trail that has taken them from the rain-drenched forests of the Northwest to the rocky bluffs of Northern California.

Both are veterans of the Appalachian Trail, where he earned the trail name "Wookie" and she earned the moniker "Island Mama."
