[at-l] What ever happened to ...



Strike-anywhere matches have been outlawed for years.  You can no longer strike them on your zipper teeth, on the sole of your shoe, against blue jeans, etc.  They're now made of a chemical that works only with the complementing chemical in the scratch board attached to the side of the box.  What a pain!  You always strike the match in the middle of the scratch area.  Before you're done with the matches in the box, the scratch area has the gritty stuff only on the edges, which don't have enough striking area in one spot to get the match going.  Is this more than you wanted to know, or what?  anklebear
