My '03 buddy Chief is hiking the NC Mountains to Sea Trail right now 
but has had to abandon some sections due to zero maintenance. He 
couldn't fight his way through the head-high brambles. He's doing the 
road walks right now, and will do the coast (up the Outer Banks) this 
November.
I might just join him for that.
