On the walk back I realized that my latest pair of hiking boots isn't 
going to be for long distance walking, alas. After a mere five miles and hardly any stream crossing, my poor feets are blistered. But aside from that, it was a lovely walk through the gently rolling Maryland countryside, and a glimpse of a vanishing landscape.
