[at-l] Guys, you gotta read this

http://www.newmanmag.com/article.php?sid=547&mode=thread&order=0

the story begins:
I was about one more gnat-swipe from declaring the hike a total, absolute, sweat-logged, bug-bit bust. The boys were dragging, we hadn?t seen a single deer or snake, and the bugs were laughing at our so-called insect spray.

This much-hyped Appalachian Trail hike with a half-dozen 8-year-olds was becoming a death march -- until one boy spotted a ?mountain? to climb.

I didn?t see the mountain. I saw a scraggly rock outcropping not much bigger than our minivan. To the boys, however, it was the north face of Mount Everest and they were going to conquer it. They attacked it with a surge of energy and enthusiasm, climbing and playing until each one had reached the top. They talked about ?the mountain? for weeks after that and will remember it forever.

Guys (really the male kind) ya gotta read the rest of this article. Auntie Coosa says "read young man, read" -- please.
