I was "doing" New York in a day with Mr. Curtis Balls, former lister 
still in our hearts.

It was my most fun off-trail excursion. Also, the most exhausting. 
Curtis was the consummate host. We got up early and "did" the Today 
show. That skinny Al Roker signed my trail banner.
