[at-l] Hawaiian Ruck? OT(?)

Hmmm...I won't be settling in Hawaii for at LEAST a decade, and who would attend a "Hawaiian Ruck" anywho?

There IS some awesome hiking on The Big Island, of course, but it ain't nowhere NEAR the A.T. (Yeah, yeah, double negative...I know)

However, I'll be there next from Christmas Day to my birthday (ask Felix, he keeps track of those), so it's a possibility.

Seriously though, if anyone happens to go there, they can camp on my lot; just watch out for the lava...which I'm gambling won't be an issue.
(Hasn't flowed thru the area since 1907, and missed MY lot then)

There IS a free "first come, first served" shelter in nearby Manuka State Park.

Plus, I know of a nearby yurt with a (cold) shower and kitchen for $20/night.

For directions, if anyone wants them, just e-mail me off list...

Felix......is this a joke, is this an excerpt from one of your stories? Were
there EVEN any ferrets????? I believe the one about the porch swing ropes
because you provided a picture of your house-which I might add by the way is
beautiful and I believe that YOU should start hosting an Indiana/Ohio Ruck
of some kind. I also mentioned to CamoJack when he gets settled in Hawaii
someday on his new property he is to host a Hawaiian Ruck - but then - me
and Amy would probably be the only ones to attend, well, maybe that
Billville crowd might find a way there.........
