At 9 feet long, the Explorer Ultralite A-sym was designed for anyone under 250 lbs. or more than 6 feet tall. It also has the same great proportions and protection as the smaller Ultralite Backpacker A-sym.

The Explorer is the missing link between the 9 ft. Expedition/Backpacker models and the hugh 11 ft. long Safari models. These two new models provide a new dimension in comfort without the weight penalty of the bigger Safari. These are the hammmocks for those who are over 6? tall or more than 250 lbs. There is still space to bring a lightweight pack inside.

The Ultralite A-sym hammock has a large silicone nylon fly and 1600 lb. test ropes and is just as impervious to mosquitoes as the UltraLite Backpacker. It is also more soft and stretchy than the Explorer Deluxe.

Rainfly coverage is excellent and the additional space can also be used to store a lightweight pack at the head end of the hammock. The new A-sym shape provides more space and comfort when resting on the diagonal.

Lying on the diagonal is the secret for maximum comfort in a hammock. We have designed the first hammock with a diagonal axis. We call it the "A-sym". We have moved the right side anchor point of the hammock down by your knee and the left side anchor point up by your shoulder. This makes the hammock feel longer with a wider 'sweet spot' of comfort.
