When someone opens the door for me, I say "thanks." Although I'm perfectly capable of opening the damn door myself, I say, "thanks." Really, I say, "Thank yew!" which is an anomoly in south Florida.
I've bashed Walmart on this list, and I've taken the easy way on a lot of issues. However, I had a friend that was on a downward spiral when I left Tennessee, and she was a drunk, a victim of domestic abuse and also so much more. I saw this girl threaten her own MOTHER with a corkscrew, for the love of God... It wasn't pretty. She was my friend, though. I worried about her (and her mother) for years.
Going back to Tennessee, or rather, Kingsport was a "Face your demons, Kelly." I haven't been back before this past weekend. I hadn't seen these people in 20 years. It wasn't cool. I was a nervous wreck. I left without saying goodbye, I left without a word to anyone. I simply left, and never said a word to anyone. wow. I came back this past weekend and I was welcomed like I never left. wow. I was happy to see all my old friends, but I couldn't stop thinking about the girl that wasn't there. Andrea. The drunk who was abused and an abuser. Jesus Christ, I'm such an open book....I should keep my friggin' mouth shut.
I reckon I'm still recovering from a homecoming I never thought would happen.
Anyhoo, more later..........maybe.
