<snip>
Dutch Haus was abuzz when we got there. There were 14 thrus
there plus us plus one other guest and they have space for about
12 on a good day, so we did some creative logistics and squeezed
everybody in. After a shower and while waiting for dinner, we
began chatting with a long section hiker who, it turns out,
knows Toey. It's a small world. We pulled beer out of our
cooler (so few thrus carry coolers) and sat and chatted. I was
too tired to remember all the names but "Neanderthal", "Papa
Bear" - not ours, "Scholar", "Spider", and "Slowpoke" were
there, as well as the guy who knows SloeToe but whose name I
didn't catch - he is doing a section from Catawba to Pine Grove
Furance and came to a stove building party at Toey's house -
give me a name Toe. There was much debate about whether
"Vagrant" or "One step at a Time" is the champion snorer - most
everybody there has hostels with one or both at various times -
perhaps there's a thread there. Everybody was great company
last night and the Arnolds run a great house.

### Well, there's Lite-ning (big guy, powerful hiker, *starting*
["Ha!"] to get his pack to a reasonable weight... but he was at
Mark's house, where we fired up various stoves, but didn't
*make* any...
### And if someone from the Hoosier stove-making ruckie ('01
Winter?) is out sectioneering, I'm in the dark without my
headlamp.

I hope it's Lite-ning -- he's one fired-up hiker.
