I'll be heading up to Lake Placid after work today. Tomorrow is the 46R
trail work day and in the evening is the spring meeting. Saunterer or
anyone else going to be there?
BTW, for those of you used to the AT, or even Jim with his blazes with no
footbed in Penn, you'd love the one trail we maintain. Goes back to
Wallface ponds, about 5 miles to a dead end, you really have to want to be
there. Many years ago it was known as the "Golden Highway" because it was a
corduroy logging road, and all the peeled logs glowed in the sunshine.
Well, there may be a couple of logs left, but most have rotted out. There
are places where the trail is more stream than trail, and others where it's
more bushwhack than trail, it's a real adventure!
