[at-l] North Maine Woods

Thanks for the re-run of one of your stock posts, but - have you any factua=
l, and perhaps useful, input to this topic? =

hope this helps," say a still confused TJ.

This is absolutely and totally false. I don't know of anyone who keeps trac=
k of all the southern and coastal region land sales. The six million acres =
I reported is all in the North Maine Woods. Those acreages are easy to repo=
rt because they began with a dozen or less major landowners in this thinly=
populated area and gradually the ownership is being fragmented as land spe=
culators buy and sell what a few years ago was the largest unbroken forest =
east of the Mississippi.

I'm sorry to be blunt. But this is a tragedy in the making. We can't afford=
not to correct the blatherings of those who blindly choose to be uninforme=
d.
