In 1954 I was 10 and I didn't buy milk or gas but according to
http://www.gti.net/mocolib1/prices/1954.html milk was $.22/quart in Morris
County NJ. No price for gas is listed but when I got my first car in 1966,
high test was $.25/gallon. By 1974 it was up to $.44/gallon. After that I
don't recall any specific milestones.
