Well, it isn't quite so gruesome, but that's the general idea.  If a critter
has come to think of people as food, then that's dangerous.  Bears - and
other critters, for that matter - don't see humans as food.  If a bear - or
any other critter - attacks a human, then there is probably something wrong
with that critter.
