Besides being lighter another reason to use plastic soda or Gatorade bottles 
is that they can cheaply and easily be replaced.  At least this way, you wont 
have to limit yourself to sugarless drinks, if you're not much into gear 
hygiene and/or bringing an extra tooth brush with you to get the job done.
