You've been conditioned to think of forest preservation means preserving the
lumber industry, Weary. Until you update your antiquated views, I expect
you'll remain confused about the new AMC and pro-lumber politicians like Baldacci.
You've been conditioned to parrot the common fallacy that the only alternative
to continued economic exploitation is "condominiums." You need to stop
pretending that a National Forest or a new Baxter-style State Park are some of the
many other ways that the Maine North Woods might actually be Preserved.
