I'm not sure Kinnickinic meant that the RR won't actually fit in the
hammock, rather that hammocking may not require any pad. I use the really
big 25x77 inch Ridgerest in my Hennessey Hammock in cold weather, and it's
great down below freezing. But for summer use, a much smaller, thinner pad
is fine just for any needed insulation value.

Regarding the original question about the 1.5 inch thick Prolite 4 over the
1.0 inch thick Prolite 3: I saw the new Prolites in my local outdoor store,
and immediately picked up the smallest, lightest pad on the shelf, and
remarked to my wife, "This new 3/4-length 1-inch think Prolite 3 is *really*
small and light."

Oops. Turns out I had picked up the full-length Prolite 4. Wow -- that thing
is tiny. The REI dividend just might come in handy.....
