[at-l] Hiking falls - a story revisited

It's been a while since I wrote, and some of you may remember my story from
a couple of years ago. Here it is again - incidentally, I have had many
falls on the AT and many of them more severe than the one described in this
story. But occasionally you will hit one just right (or wrong, depending on
how you look at it).
